So how can small businesses use AI? Today I'm going to tell you about seven ways that small businesses can use AI today. Now small businesses face real immense challenges. Everything from stiff competition to limited resources, but artificial intelligence is bringing new ways and new opportunities to level the playing field through smarter branding, marketing, and overall strategy.
So AI tools can now analyze market trends and consumer behavior and suggest marketing strategies for you, and this means as a small business you can make data-driven decisions about your business rather than just guessing about what is the right thing to do. So let's explore seven ways that even the smallest business can utilize AI to build awareness, connect with customers, and grow into new markets. Number one is email marketing personalization.
Email marketing remains one of the highest returning channels for small business, yet effectively personalizing messages at scale can be really tough. New AI email suites get to know each subscriber through past engagement tracking while also segmenting your customers into look-alike groups that are most likely to share interests or they share purchase intent signals with each other, and from there AI subjects every subscriber to the optimal send time, message tone, email link, and product recommendations that are tailored just to them. This drives dramatically higher open and click rates and directly impacts customer lifetime value.
I can tell you even modest size email lists of a few thousand people can benefit from 20 to 40 percent greater email revenue thanks to AI-powered personalization, and in my opinion here's the best AI-driven all-in-one email marketing tool. It's called High Level. High Level is an all-in-one software that combines CRM, email marketing, landing pages, contracts, proposals, SMS marketing, and a lot more with built-in automation that's powered by AI.
Here are just some of the ways that High Level enables AI-driven personalization and marketing. It includes things like dynamic email content and SMS messages that are personalized for every subscriber based on their interests and their engagement history. It also gives you automated workflows that send subscribers tailored messages and offers over customized time frames.
High Level also offers AI-optimized landing pages and ad creation that are all based on high-performing elements that are identified from your previous campaigns. It also does lead scoring and routing using machine learning to identify sales qualified prospects. High Level's automation allows small teams to achieve really great results without straining your limited resources.
So I want you to go to the description of the video and click on the link which has got a special offer attached that's going to give you a free extended 30-day trial with absolutely no risk. So go and check out High Level today. Alright, number two, content creation.
Content creation is where AI really shines and it's a godsend for small businesses that need to get into the content game but have limited resources to do so. For content creation, tools like Claude and Vard and Gemini and ChatGPT and Mistrial Large can help generate initial drafts, they can suggest topics based on trending keywords, they can create long-form articles and posts, and they can even give you the best title that's going to return the best engagement. But AI isn't perfect.
You have to do some facts checking because AI does make mistakes and also do a bit of rewriting for quality control to be sure you infuse your AI-generated pieces with your brand's unique voice and an appropriate personality. Alright, number three, social media game changer. Social media presents a massive opportunity for customer engagement for small business but it also requires constantly creating content and monitoring conversations across networks.
In social media, AI-driven analytics tools can track engagement, suggest the best times to post, and even identify your most influential followers. This means more targeted and effective social media strategies and you can also use it to benchmark your social media efforts against your competition to recommend new types of video or imagery or copy that's going to return even greater views and shares and follows for you. Now one great tool to do this is Sprout Social.
It's an intelligent social media management platform that analyzes audience demographics, engagement rates, optimal posting times, and even gives you competitor comparisons. It provides recommendations to improve your social strategy. It's an amazing tool.
There's another tool called HootSuite. You might have heard of that one. It's an all-in-one social media manager with auto scheduling, audience insights, content analytics, all powered by AI.
And it offers recommendations to increase reach and conversion for each social network that you post on. Another great tool is Buzzsumo. Buzzsumo is an AI-fueled discovery and monitoring tool to help you uncover social sharing trends and personalize content ideas based on influential and viral existing posts in any niche and it's ideal for maximizing the impact of your blog and your social content.
Now number four, leveraging consumer insights. Understanding competitor product offerings, their pricing, their campaigns, and their search approaches is really useful but it's also super time intensive to gather and lots of small businesses have no idea where to start on this. So new insights and competitor tracking software solutions leverage AI to automatically mine numerous data sources on key competitors in your space and at a glance you can see the latest marketing incentives, the SEO tactics, the ad spend levels, the buyer feedback, and also more important information so that your business can make decisions without constantly doing manual research.
Here are some AI tools that you can use to leverage competitor insights. The first one is SEMrush. SEMrush is a digital marketing suite that features AI-driven competitor analysis to track your competition's organic and page search efforts, their top performing keywords, their backlinks, their social visibility, their paid advertising history, and even more.
Small businesses can get really powerful data to shape their strategy from SEMrush. Another one is SpyFu. SpyFu utilizes AI to automatically surface valuable data on competitor keywords, pay-per-click ads, organic ratings, backlinks, website changes, and search optimization strategies.
Small businesses can reverse engineer what's working for their competitors so they can do it even better. Another great tool is Contentino. This AI sales intelligence platform delivers actionable intel on target accounts, news cycles, their trigger events, contacts, their org charts, the technologies they're using, and other signals that help small businesses pitch their sales products at the right time in an informed manner for really improved conversions.
Now, these are all monthly subscription-based tools with pricing that's scaled for small businesses so you can leverage them to get robust competitor data that only AI automation can efficiently get for you, and it democratizes marketing intelligence gathering so small brands can really punch above their weight. Number five is getting found locally. Ranking for local search result is really vital for any small business, but optimizing your Google My Business listing with good content is really time-consuming, and new AI tools automatically publish posts, respond to reviews, and update listings and analyze metrics for your location pages.
They help you stand out amongst the pack and your competitors by building recognition and conversions in your geographic area. Now, Local SEO saves tons of hours weekly, and I want you to check out Moz Local. It's a great tool.
Now, Moz Local is a really great tool for improving your local SEO. It's a robust search engine management platform that leverages machine learning to optimize Google My Business listings for maximum visibility for you locally. Then, it has key features like automated data aggregation from local directories and business databases to keep all listing details consistent and error-free.
It also has intelligent listing distribution to push outdated business information out to 100-plus national and local databases. Moz Local makes hands-off local SEO easy, so smaller brands can focus time on customers rather than listings. Its artificial intelligence handles the heavy lifting to drive more nearby customer conversions by optimizing your ability to be found locally.
All right, number six, using chatbots for customer engagement. Today, people expect instantaneous personalized interactions, but most small businesses can't provide 24-7 call center support or immediate SMS messaging or text replies. Now, chatbots have come a very long way in the last year, and I know they have a bad rap, but if you use them right and feed them with the right data and info, they can mean the difference between a sale and a prospect leaving frustrated.
Intelligent chatbots offer solution by answering common questions, routing inquiries, and gathering helpful customer data like purchase history and communication preferences, and they engage visitors instantly in your website and across messaging apps at any hour for a fraction of human support costs. And the seventh way that small businesses can use AI is turning browsers into buyers. Now, on average, only 2-3% of website visitors convert into paying customers for small business, and lifting this number requires understanding each visitor's needs and steering them towards the best products and services.
An AI visitor behavior analysis can track browsing clicks, geolocation, and other engagement signals in real time to build anonymous customer profiles, and you can instantly identify topics and products resonating with your visitors to improve your on-site search, your website recommendations, and also your calls to action. The results of using AI for this often doubles or even triple conversions, and there are two specific AI software tools that small businesses can use to turn website visitors into buyers, and the first one is Instapage. Instapage is an AI assistant that provides live website visitor recordings and heat maps to identify high-opportunity user paths and roadblocks, and then the AI makes specific page and copy recommendations to optimize conversion bottlenecks.
And the second tool I want to recommend is Usermind. This is a customer journey analytics platform that builds machine learning models to predict what website visitors are most sales qualified on their behavioral signals. The AI then triggers tailored push notifications and messaging to guide high-scoring prospects into conversion funnels.
Both Instapage and Usermind increase the possibilities for small businesses. They analyze and implement personalization for anonymous traffic that now makes it data-driven instead of guesswork and is always going to lift conversion rates. Now today, the opportunities for small business is increasingly bright thanks to AI.
It once was only for really big corporations to use AI, and now that playing field is really getting leveled for small businesses. By being the first in your field to welcome AI solutions, you can gain a real early advantage over competition who fail to adopt these new technologies. You want to work smarter, not only harder, in order to set your brand up for long-term success.
Every small commitment that you make to AI capabilities today leads to more outsized returns tomorrow. So that's just some of the ways that small business can use AI, and there are more hitting the market every day. Now, when it comes to AI software to build and grow your business, there are a ton of choices available.
Some are good, some are bad, and some are just downright ugly. I know because after over 15 years in this game, I've used pretty much all of them. That's why my suggestion here is actually going to be pretty simple and pretty straightforward, which is to check out a piece of software called High Level, which is what I use in my business and with all of my clients.
